Behind the build

How the rewards engine actually works

July 28, 2026

We get asked whether the scan-to-earn thing is real or marketing. Fair question — crypto has earned the skepticism. So here's exactly how the machine works, because we'd rather show you than ask you to trust us.

One code, one can, one claim

Every code is generated cryptographically and checked against every code we've ever issued before it's allowed to exist — duplicates are impossible by construction. When you scan, the claim locks atomically: the same code can never pay twice, even if two people type it in the same millisecond. First scan wins; that's why the code hides under your tab.

The payout is a public transaction

When your claim clears, our treasury wallet sends SOL to your wallet on the Solana network. That transaction has a signature you can look up on any block explorer, forever. Every total we publish — the pot, the leaderboard, your own history — is backed by receipts anyone on earth can audit. We couldn't fake the numbers if we wanted to.

The boring safety stuff (that matters)

There are rate limits per wallet and per connection, a daily payout cap that protects the pool, and a kill switch that can pause claims instantly if something looks wrong. The treasury is deliberately kept small — a cash drawer, never a vault — and topped up as scans come in. None of this touches you as a scanner; it just means the system fails safe instead of failing spectacularly.

What's next

Bigger drops on special runs, seasonal codes worth more, and a few ideas we're not ready to say out loud yet. The engine was built to scale to millions of cans — now we get to fill it.
